Ron Paul (part II) ... it gets even scarier...

So in my research on Ron Paul, I found an article that put a lot of what I found in a nice neat list for me. So I just had to post the whole thing and not give you only a link to the article.

It's up to you to decide if this is hogwash or not.

To the folk who will balk at this... keep in mind articles are always a mix of facts and opinion. The author is allowed to post how they view the facts they cite, as that is part of Free Speech and part of how we exchange ideas and principles.

Writers and reporters give us food for thought, it's meant to be a jumping off point so you can then use your own mind to come to a conclusion. If you research any of the points they list and find it to be false then you can simply discredit the author and chalk it off as Political bull hockey and reject everything else they say.

If it's not true then Ron Paul will just look like more of a Hero to you and at the same time be the victim of the media.

You decide...

You Might Be A Ron Paul Supporter If…

For anyone that doesn’t support Ron Paul, and has ever tried to talk to his supporters, you’ve probably realized that they are unaware of all the things they are supporting by endorsing Ron Paul. Here’s a list of just 21 reasons someone might be a Ron Paul supporter.

1. You’ve never researched Ron Paul’s voting record.
2. You think it’s OK for businesses to discriminate against people based on their race, since Ron Paul thinks the Civil Rights Act is unconstitutional.
3. You’re a supporter of the white supremacist organization StormFront.org, which has repeatedly endorsed and stated their support for Ron Paul.
4. You don’t care that Ron Paul was the ONLY congressman who voted against granting subpoena power to the independent panel responsible for investigating the BP oil spill.
5. You don’t like clean air and water, since Ron Paul wants to eliminate the EPA.
6. You don’t want to have a safety net in place, in case your house is destroyed by a tornado, hurricane, or some other natural disaster, since Ron Paul wants to eliminate FEMA.
7. You think all schools should be private, and that you should have to pay for your children to get an education, since Ron Paul wants to eliminate the Department of Education.
 8. You think corporations should be allowed to do whatever they want, because Ron Paul wants to eliminate all regulations on corporations.
9. You are anti-choice, since Ron Paul believes that states should have the right to take away a woman’s choice over what she does with her body.
10. You support segregation, since Ron Paul doesn’t think schools should be forced to allow attendance based on race or ethnic background.
11. You support guns on airplanes, since Ron Paul thinks that 9/11 could have been prevented, if citizens were allowed to carry guns on airplanes.
12. You oppose equality for LGBT people, since Ron Paul doesn’t think the federal government should guarantee equal protection under the law for our LGBT brothers and sisters.
13. You don’t have a problem with people carrying guns near schools, since Ron Paul want to repeal the Gun-Free School Zones Act.
14. You oppose same-sex marriage, since Ron Paul was an original co-sponsor of the Marriage Protection Act in the House of Representatives, in 2004.
15. You don’t like having a good relationship with other countries around the world, since Ron Paul wants the United States to pull out of the United Nations.
16. You think the middle-class should have a higher tax burden than the wealthy, since Ron Paul’s tax plan would disproportionately favor the rich.
17. You want a President who would make more unilateral decisions and undo more progress in this country than George W. Bush could have ever hoped to accomplish.
18. You think that poor students shouldn’t be allowed to go to college, since Ron Paul wants to eliminate federal student loans.
19. You believe crazy conspiracy theories about globalization, and that the Zionists are trying to take over the world.
20. You think the 10th Amendment is the most important part of the Bill of Rights, even though it’s last on the list.
21. You’re mad at Obama because you believed him when he said he would end the war immediately, and he didn’t because he didn’t have the support of congress, but you believe Ron Paul could get it done immediately.

Ron Paul One Scary Dude

Well now.... what do we have here? I knew I didn't like Ron Paul for a few reasons I will list later in another article.

All I can say is he is one scary fucking dude.

Ron Paul's Racism

Last fall, Rand Paul briefly caused a stir when he suggested that his libertarian principles would require him to have opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Paul danced around the subject, refusing the let himself be pinned down.

Added 11/12/11

Just found another article that does not paint a pretty picture of the kind of folks who follow him.

Muting America

Sometimes I think I am in some crazy nightmare, existing in some place that is not my home Country but some surreal place where we defend the rights of people in other countries but turn a blind eye when our own people who are in trouble need help. Only it isn't any nightmare... it's reality.

One of the more beautiful and progressive and evolved and Democratic things that has grown in the past decade or so, is the use of Social Media.

True, you can not believe everything you see or hear, but the point is that the people of this planet can be in control of what information they get. You can decide for yourself if it's a load of crappolla or not!

In other countries in the Mid-East Region, officials have actually shut down internet access to prevent the world from seeing what is actually happening instead of what they want people to believe is happening.

As Americans we condemn this type of behavior as it violates every human right there is and because it's simply not Democratic. When I saw the article posted HERE I wanted to throw up. For a second I felt like I was in a nightmare because this could not possibly be true... but sadly it is.

There is now a Bill being considered to control what we the people, in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA can say or not using Social Media. Insane!

What are we going to do about it? Here is a portion of the article...

In what would be a stunning disregard for First Amendment rights, rumors are swirling that the Republican controlled Congress is now considering a new bill that could blackout sites such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and other sites that utilize content generated by users. Phones such as iPhone, Android, AmazonCloud, Pandora, Grooveshark and even your email accounts would be adversely affected.
Some provisions in the bill would make it a “felony to stream unlicensed content — including cover band performances, karaoke videos, video game play-throughs, and more.” Major profit driven corporations are the driving force behind such a bill.

What Happens When America Calls Out Sick

Here is a short video from the Texas Tribune that encapsulates perfectly what this country is facing when it comes to uninsured citizens.

It talks about the 6.2 MILLION... yes MILLION Texans who have no Health Care Insurance. And guess what... most of these folks HAVE jobs. That's right, they are not lazy bums, but real middle class working American folk.

Now picture an entire country, not just Texas being in the same sinking boat.

If we allow people to go without health care and they become sick, then the money we will eventually spend on the sick and dying, will bring this country to a screeching halt. No one wins.

Even rich people who HATE to part with their money, should want Health Care for ALL.

Here is the choice: You can pay a little more in taxes now which allows the country to be productive because it's full of healthy people and therefore thrives or pay for it in ways you can't even imagine later by allowing the majority of the people in this country fall by the wayside.

What happens when America Calls out Sick? Well, other countries will thrive economically and look at us like a bunch of morons... that's what.

The Majority of us are NOT rich. So the majority of the people in this country should WANT coverage for all. Yet the Right Wing Crazies don't? Why?

It's like all the insane people of the country got together and formed a club. The Tea Party. Only Mad Hatters and delusional characters please. Oh and maybe a grinning FAT CATor two.

If you use logic and think about it, it will cost MORE money and ruin our country if the majority of it's citizens are sick and dying with no one to do their jobs.

HOW does that help our country?

There's only one reason the right wing doesn't want it and that's Bigotry.

It's not about money, it couldn't be because it will cost us more then you can possibly calculate (if you throw human lives into the equation) if the majority of the people in this country are sick and dying.

I dare anyone to explain why you don't want ALL AMERICANS to be healthy?

It's completely unpatriotic to start with, it's illogical, it's inhumane and it's un-Christian.

I think it's time we tell the Mad Hatters and the Fat Cats and little miss Alice in Wonderland that the party is OVER

"Who Was Jesus" TV Series ~ Was he the First Hippy?

In my fascination with learning about different Religions, I watched a TV series from Discovery on the Planet Green Channel and was blown away by the series called Who Was Jesus.

I am 99.9% an Atheist, giving room for the fact that I simply do not know if God exists or not. If he does, I would bet God is beyond anything we can fathom. Just wanted you to know where my head is before I go on. :) Even though I am an Atheist I consider myself to be very very spiritual, therefore I call myself a Spiritual Atheist.

I believe that all Religion was based in spirituality but that what it's really become over time is a perverted tool used for controlling people.

That's why I do not believe in organized religion. To me they are nothing more then various types of cults in place to get you to do what they want and support their agenda.

I think the Catholic religion is more like "the Mob" then they are about God, shaking down millions of people all over the world for pennies so they can live in palaces while promising them that God will help them ... but only if they obey what they tell them to do. It's a con game in my opinion. And if it's not about the money, it's about a sense of power and feeding your ego.

Well.... after watching this series, I believe all of that even more so.

I personally believe that Christ lived.... and ..... that he was the very first Hippy... :)

I don't believe he performed miracles or was resurrected or any of that, but I do feel that he was a very special human being.

I honestly believe in the teachings of Christ, even though I am an Atheist.... how do you like that! :)

But, I don't believe he was the manifestation of God. I think that what this human being taught in his day was so controversial and so scary and so important and spoke to the core of Humanity, that the higher ups (priests who were in cahoots with the Roman Empire) and the people in power (Romans) had to get rid of him, they had no choice or they would lose control.

And when they did crucify him and make an example of him, his amazing journey and life story was told over and over and he became a legend that was then transformed into some other worldly super being by people as a way to calm their minds and give them hope and peace of mind. That some day... they too would enter the Kingdom of God and be safe and happy and at peace. It's a bedtime story for fearful adults. Instead of holding onto a baby blanket people hold onto crosses and other objects like a child who needs comfort.

And if you need that to make you feel better... it's okay... because how you get through the day is up to you and no one else. :) It's YOUR life. I am not here to change your beliefs but to share with you how I see the world and maybe through my perceptions, you will see the world with bigger eyes and be less afraid. If what I am saying is not for you, there is no harm done in seeing things from another point of view.

Steps off soapbox.... :)

Getting back to the series....

If you watch the shows, it's clear that Jesus was all about defending the poorest and sickest and the most persecuted. He wanted free medicine for all people. He wanted farmers to be free of taxes so that the priests and politicians could live off their sweat in luxury. He wanted people to give up their possessions and live modestly.
...I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Parallel versions appear in Matthew 19:23-24, Mark 10:24-25, and Luke 18:24-25.

That my friends is NOT what the Right Wing Republican party is all about.

So how exactly did Christianity become the foundation of this parties agenda?

True Christians are people who follow his teachings and giving tax breaks to the wealthy while workers are taxed more and allowing corporations and banks to literally steal our money and get a pass is the polar opposite of what Christ taught.

Where is the disconnect? How did this happen?

My theory is this....

You are a mega rich trillionaire... how do you get the masses of people who vote in this country to back your party so you can keep all your money and possessions?

How do you manipulate them into thinking that voting for the party that represents the wealthy is what middle America should vote for too?

You can't... unless you can get inside their heads and prey on their fears. Tell them Santa will leave coal instead of presents... oh wait that's another story... sorry. Somehow you have to convince them that bad things will happen if they don't beleive, things that happened in the Bible like floods and plagues as punishment from God and you prey on their fear of going to hell to manipulate them. That you take the Bible and pervert it to use it to con people into thinking that poor, sick, uneducated, elderly, needy people are evil in the eyes of the lord. Cause that is what the GOP is doing... trying to convince you that people like that are the problem with the country/world and that everyone is on his own unless you are "Too Big to fail"... cause then you get a safety net.

I truly believe that is what has happened, that Religion became a tool for the wicked to control the masses.

Todays word: Fear Monger

Republicans used to be by the book, clean cut, hard working business people. They used to be decent wonderful people, pillars of the community. People who built factories and bussinesses so that we could have jobs and maybe one day even be the boss.

Republicans used to be good folk. We needed them. It was like a flower needing a bee.

Now all I see are violent, racist, bigoted, homophobic, extremists who threaten the livelihood of every day America with their fear mongering and hatred and lies. They are the antithesis of what Christ was all about. They are wolves in sheeps clothing.

They don't represent business in a way that is American and helps the country any longer - they represent themselves and greed and indulgence and their obscene wealth has made them so insane with power that they will do anything to keep it.

Like send innocents to war so they can profit from rebuilding what they destroyed.

They hire thugs to Lobby for them so they can keep their money.

They put politicians in their pockets so they can dictate laws that benefit them and not the welfare of the country as a whole.

They keep on trying to convince middle America that they are the party of morals when in fact they are the party of lies and deceit and manipulation.

If you are a Christian and a Republican.... you are on the wrong side folks.... cause Jesus was a liberal Hippy to the core.

Open your eyes.... the truth will set you free.

Little Update... great minds think alike!

FDR's Second Bill Of Rights

I came across this article today about FDR's Second Bill of Rights Speech and it was like he was predicting the future in a way that would put Nostradamus to shame. But then again it was more likely that he just was a master at understanding Human Nature.

In it he talks about basic Human Rights. Not about luxuries or free rides but about the things in life that each person has a right to expect in a Free and Democratic Country.

What I find strange is how this concept scares some people, namely the Right Wing. Yes, the potential to abuse the system is inherent. Nothing in life is perfect, people are not perfect and if you expect it, then you are delusional.

When considering the alternative to denying these Basic Human Rights, that concept should scare you even more. The alternative leaves the majority of people in this country, the working class, at risk.  Who benefits from that? Who benefits if we as a society say, you don't matter? If you come upon hard times... tough shit.

What moral person, what "God fearing" person would want to see anyone suffer? What kind of person says, I want all I can personally get in life and I don't care what happens to people who are not fortunate?

Trust me, I am not referring to people who scam the system because they are complete and total criminals and should be treated like it. There's no two ways about that. But the solution to this potential problem with people who will scam the system is not to deprive everyone, but to punish the ones who abuse it. You don't punish people for what they might do, you address it when they do something wrong. It would be like saying, let's completely get rid of cars because some people get stinking drunk and kill innocent people with them.

If you believe that people can and should choose for themselves and that it's not Governments place to dictate peoples lives, which is the GOP's entire belief system, then the only way to ensure that is to give people the freedom to make those choices.

The more intelligent way to go about dealing with this is to give people a system that provides basic rights and then what you do with those rights then becomes your responsibility. If you abuse the system then you suffer the consequences. Simple.

A Government provides the foundation for society, what you build on that foundation is up to you. But if you do not provide society a foundation then we all suffer.

Republicans Financial Hit List for America

Want to know what the Good Old Boys are up to???? Here is what the GOP wants to do to resolve the current budget Crisis. Yes... that's right... they want to CUT the money that goes to... are you ready????

  • Children (pesky things, we should just clone Donald Trump a million times)
  • The Elderly (they are going to die soon anyway)
  • People who are sick (same as above)
  • Teachers (you know those selfish greedy people who educate kids for pennies so that our collective future is sound, nope, don't want to waste money on those bastards
  • Veterans (who already paid for our Freedom with their very lives and wounded bodies)
  • College kids (cause we don't want no ding dong Intellectual Elites running our country now do we Sara? )
  • Public radio and TV (cause TV and radio that isn't slanted by billionaires is just WRONG)
  • and .... the already homeless who depend on shelters for their very survival (cause us God fearing Christians just hate loving our fellow man and that whole do unto others thing... that's just for show... we don't really practice what we preach)

In the mean time the GOP wants to give tax breaks to people who earn more money then they know what to do with... to people who own lots of homes, lots of cars, have big boats, own islands, have so much money that they could buy everything 50 times... but no... the people listed below are the people they want to tighten their belts. What's wrong with this picture????

And middle class working America.... this is who you voted for! Maybe you need to rethink that whole "conservative" view point. Are YOU on the list? Bet you are?

The Hit list

1. Destroy 700,000 middle class jobs.
2. Zero out federal funding for National Public Radio and public television.
3. Slash $1.3 billion from community health centers and eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood.
4. Slash nearly a billion dollars in food and health care assistance to pregnant women, new moms, and children.
5. Slash support for Head Start, dropping 200,000 vulnerable children from pre-school.
6. Slash support for education to states which will eliminate 65,000 teachers and aides and dramatically increase class size.
7. Slash financial aid for 9.4 million low- and middle- income college students.
8. Slash $1.6 billion from the National Institutes of Health, a cut that will “send shockwaves” through cancer research.
9. Eliminate $400 million in support to the U.S. Weather Service’s early warning system for tsunamis, hurricanes and tornadoes.
10. Slash by 50% the number of veterans who get housing vouchers this year, which will increase homelessness among veterans by 10,000.

Here's a thought... What if the Tea Party was Black?

Just saw this video and it makes you think ... gee... would we call them "Patriots" if they "Rallied" in a major city, armed to the eye balls expressing their "2nd Amendment Rights"... showing signs with gun cite's targeting non members and calling a white President "Hitler" and showing nooses and bloody swords and pictures of guns and were jumping on people's heads who protested them and ... well ... you get the idea.
The Last part of the video says it ALL. It's Glen Beck telling his audience about "Reparations" .... which refers to Blacks wanting to get money for being slaves... THAT is how the Tea party and the GOP think... that this is all some grand scheme for blacks to get back at white America.

Think Again....

What if the tea party was black
Holding guns like the Black Panther Party was back
If Al was Rush Limbaugh and Jesse was Sean Hannity
And Tavis was Glenn Beck would they harm they families
If Sarah Palin was suddenly Sistah Soaljah

Would they leave it with the votes or go and get the soldiers
Yall know if the tea party was black
The government would have been had the army attack
What if Michael Baisden was on ya FM dial
For 3 hours every day calling the president foul
Would they say free speech or find evidence how
To charge him with treason like see he's unamerican now
What if Minister Farrakhan prayed for the death
Of the commander in chief that he be laid to rest
Would they treat it as the gravest threat or never make an arrest
Even today he's still hated for less
What if President Obama would have lost the election
Quit his job so he could go talk to the left and
Bash the government for being off of direction
Fraught with deception
And told black people they want all of our weapons
And we want our own country and called for secession
Would he be arrested and tossed in corrections

For trying to foster aggression
Against the people's lawful selection
Our questions
What if the tea party was black
Holding guns like the Black Panther Party was back
If Al was Rush Limbaugh and Jesse was Sean Hannity
And Tavis was Glenn Beck would they harm they families
If Sarah Palin was suddenly Sistah Soaljah
Would they leave it with the votes or go and get the soldiers
Yall know if the tea party was black
The government would have been had the army attack
What If black people went on Facebook and made a page
That for the death if the president elect we prayed
Would the creators be tazed and thrown in a cage

We know the page wouldn't have been displayed all these days
What if Jeremiah Wright said that everybody white
Wasn't a real America would you feel scared of him
If he had a militia with pictures that depict the president as Hitler
They would kill and bury that
Wait
What if Cynthia McKinney lamented the winning of the new president
And hinted he wasn't really a true resident
With no proof or evidence
Would the media treat it like a huge press event
They would have attacked whatever group she represents
They would have called her a kook on precedent
And any network that gave her due preference
Would be the laughing stock of the news so our question is
What if the tea party was black
Holding guns like the Black Panther Party was back
If Al was Rush Limbaugh and Jesse was Sean Hannity
And Tavis was Glenn Beck would they harm they families
If Sarah Palin was suddenly Sistah Soaljah
Would they leave it with the votes or go and get the soldiers
Yall know if the tea party was black
The government would have been had the army attack

Bill Maher to the Teabaggers – The Founding Fathers Would Have Hated Your Guts

Finally!!!!! The Founding Fathers would HATE the Tea Party!!!!! YES!!!! If you understand ANYTHING about American History then you know that this is the real truth. The Tea Party would be the people the Founding Fathers would fight against. This kind of brain washing that is so common in this era of "I believe what Glen Beck Tells me... screw the facts..." is what is tearing this country apart.

You have to watch the first part of his "New Rules" segment which is very mature content ... so fair warning .... I can't edit that out, you have to watch to the end to see his speech about this subject. He hits the nail on the head. TPMMuckraker Clear Channel Yanks 'Straight Shooter' Limbaugh Ad In Tucson Eric Lach |

January 13, 2011, 5:50PM

Several weeks ago, NewsTalk 790 KNST in Tucson put up a billboard to advertise Rush Limbaugh's radio show. The text reads, "Rush Limbaugh/Straight Shooter," and the ad is riddled with images of bullet holes. In the wake of the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and 18 others on Saturday, KNST's parent company, Clear Channel, decided to take down the billboard. In a statement to TPM, Clear Channel, which also manages the billboard, said the ad "used the common expression 'straight shooter' to describe Mr. Limbaugh's candid and direct style." The company also said explicitly that it was KNST's promotion department that created the ad, not Limbaugh's show. But after Saturday, company management decided it might not be such a good idea to keep the ad up. "Clear Channel Outdoor management in Tucson quickly elected to take down this ad - believing that discussion of its interpretation would not contribute to the desire for healing in the Tucson community," Clear Channel said. Read the full statement:

Starting several weeks before the recent tragic incident in Tucson, Clear Channel Outdoor had been displaying an ad campaign created by a local Tucson talk radio station to promote its broadcasts of Rush Limbaugh's nationally syndicated radio program. This particular ad - which used the common expression "straight shooter" to describe Mr. Limbaugh's candid and direct style -- was designed and contracted for by the local station's promotion department - not by Mr. Limbaugh's program. In the wake of the tragedy, Clear Channel Outdoor management in Tucson quickly elected to take down this ad - believing that discussion of its interpretation would not contribute to the desire for healing in the Tucson community.

You Can't Reason with a Rabid Dog... OR the Right Wing

The article below is clipped from Alternet... My thoughts on this article... I am shocked that the Right Wing Talking Heads are THIS crazy ...but then again I shouldn't be shocked at ALL. It would be akin to being shocked that a rabid dog couldn't be reasoned with.

The Tea Party Express sent an email to supporters this morning asking for money to fight against alleged liberal attacks in the wake of the shooting.

Since the mass shooting that killed 6 and left Rep. Gabrielle Giffords fighting for her life, people across the political spectrum have called on the American right to tone down the extremist rhetoric that paints liberals, progressives, Democrats and minority groups as enemies bent on destroying America.
In a wholly predictable development, tea party leaders and right-wing media stars have mainly responded by railing about a leftist plot to silence them. Last night, preempting Obama's upcoming speech honoring victims of the massacre, Sarah Palin released a slick video in which she glares at the camera and accuses opponents of "blood libel," a term that refers to anti-semitic myths historically used to instigate pogroms and other campaigns of violence against Jews. Rush Limbaugh actually accused liberals of literally rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect of using the shooting to censor conservatives -- or "shut 'em up and shut 'em down." Think Progress tracked an online forum discussion in which Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips warned that the Tucson tragedy is part of a "war" between liberals and the Tea Parties, and urged Tea Party supporters to spread the falsehood that Loughner was a "liberal lunatic."
It would seem that the Tea Party Express, one of the largest Tea Party groups, has found an even more direct way to capitalize on the grievance ideology that fuels so much of that movement. On Monday the group sent a letter requesting donations. In an email sent to supporters this morning, they ran down a litany of alleged injustices perpetrated against conservatives in the wake of the tragedy and pledged to fight back -- ideally, with donations from their supporters:
"Instead of prayers for the victims and their families, the Left was consumed with using this massacre to score political points by blaming the tea party movement, Gov. Sarah Palin and now Rush Limbaugh."
"Who do these people think they are? First they have the audacity to blame us for a mass murder, and now they try to tell us what we can or cannot say and/or do. They think they can dictate what kind of defense we are allowed to offer for ourselves after they falsely accuse us of being responsible for the wrongdoing of a mentally ill member of society."
Sorry, but we're not going to stand for that kind of treatment. We here in the tea party movement have done absolutely nothing wrong. And we are not going to be told to shut up and sit down, when this tragedy has nothing to do with the wonderful, patriotic and peaceful tea party movement.
If liberals think they can engage in such outrageous behavior than they need to realize it will backfire on them. No friends, we won't be silenced, instead we will show them that their attacks on us will only result in us being stronger.

The Wild West 2011 Tea Party Style! YaHoo!

Here is an interview with Chris Matthews and the leader of the TEA Party Judson Phillips. What an eye opener! As I read the piece and then watched the video it sounded like he thought he was in the Wild West some 200 years ago... I thought does he KNOW it's 2011?

So if he thinks it's okay to bring GUNS to a RALLY, then it would be okay in turn if a bunch of Muslims or Mexicans or Blacks have a rally.. say across the street from the Tea Party Rally... all carrying GUNS?

Is he looking for a shoot out? Does he think that it would be a better America to have gun fights in the streets? Would he be "okay" with them all "expressing their right to bear arms"? Or would he be pissing in his pants and feel threatened by such an aggressive act?

This is the Founder of the Tea Party... NOT some liberal pretending to be from the Tea Party to give them a bad name... no... this is right from the horses mouth.

"....Chris Matthews talked to Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips today, and grilled him on second amendment issues and the "history of violence" in America. Referencing the fondness of tea partiers for bringing guns to political rallies, Matthews asked: "Why are guns talked about so much, especially on the right?"

Phillips replied that "guns are talked about on both sides of the political spectrum," and "liberals talk about it all the time. Usually in terms of taking the right to bear arms away from us."

Matthews got a bit worked up when Phillips asserted that leaders have town hall meetings all the time and "nothing ever happens to them." Matthews began to list a number of leaders who have been shot and killed, like Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, and others who have been the targets of assassination attempts, like Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, and Harry Truman.

There's "a history of violence in this country. I don't know how you haven't noticed it," Matthews said. He later asked: "Are you concerned that people bring guns to political rallies. Yes or no." Phillips replied that he's not, and Matthews followed up: "Why would a person bring a gun to a political rally?"

"Because they have the right to," Phillips said, adding: "You'd carry a gun for safety. Just like you do for any other thing."

"They bring it to make a statement against the political people in this country they don't like and they use it as a threat," Matthews shot back, then asked: "Do you think it would be better off if people didn't bring guns to political events?"

"I would rather people not carry guns in occasions where you might get tempers flaring. I think that's probably prudent. But as far as just a general political rally, I don't have a problem with it," Phillips replied... "

Putting Sara in the Crosshairs

Remember this? When a politician literally Targeted people?

Is this Terrorism? Looks like it to me.

Did she incite people to shoot? Looks like it to me.

WHAT was the "Solution"? Putting people in the cross hairs of a gun? Looks like it to me.

WHY isn't THIS terrorism? If a Muslim had a map with cross hairs posted over the areas where people who opposed Islam was found on a FaceBook Page... would we allow that? Would they be in JAIL?

When a public figure actually CALLS for a "2nd amendment solution" (that means Guns to those who don't know) ... THAT is a call to action and a call to violence. Why aren't Sara and Sharron in jail for this?

Read these links I will add more as I find them...

What the Right Gains From Poisoning Our Political Discourse and Inspiring Violence

Palin and Angle didn't Use Political Rhetoric, They Gave Instructions

Excerpt from article:
"This goes beyond just rhetoric. This is a direct prescription for an act of gun violence by Sharron Angle against a public figure identified as a gun target by Sarah Palin. This is not simply rhetoric. These are clear instructions of what to do, and against whom to do it. This warrants a criminal investigation against these two individuals and should potentially be expanded to include other politicians, and pundits, that aided and abetted them in this scheme."

When Hate Speech Turns into Murder

It's hard not to want to blame the Right Wing Media for the event that took place in Arizona. I am struggling to remain calm but my grief over takes that emotion. Are they to blame for putting the seeds of violence in the mind of a clearly insane person? Maybe... maybe not.

Here is the thing to remember about all this.... when you speak and when you have a platform that reaches millions of people, you are going to put ideas into the minds of the people who are your audience... both sane and insane... therefore you have a responsibility as a human being.... to not say things that spark violence.

Hate speech, speech that incites and inflames may not be directly the cause for this event... but then again it might. And if people from the right wing think that their right to free speech gives them the right to incite the people who ingest their vile words ... think again. We need to stand up to people who incite this kind of violent behavior... whether it's some guy stomping on the head of a protester or a mentally ill person who opens fire on a crowded shopping mall parking lot... we need to hold the people who plant these seeds of violence responsible.
Here are some links for you to ponder...

Christians... 'We've got to pretend Jesus was just as selfish as we are'

Ah yes... Jesus. Here's a thought... he was a liberal... in fact he was the King of liberals. Yet somehow, American Christians are overwhelmingly Republican. Yet another disconnect involving the delusional state of mind Republicans live in.

Hey ...but Republicans voted to give Tax Cuts to the Rich. Now that's something Jesus would do right?

Jesus would also oppose entitlements for the poor ... hell ... let them fend for themselves. Jesus was a selfish bastard right? NO???? Hmmm... Maybe Christians need to be liberals... LIKE JESUS!!! What a concept!

Bullies in the Yard

We all dealt with Bullies in school, unless of course you WERE a Bully... And the best way to deal with a Bully is to ignore them because all they are really looking for is attention to feed their weak ego. And most of the time that works and they go away or quiet down.

Every once in a while you come across one who just does not give up and does everything in their power to break you down. At some point you NEED to stand up to them and face them toe to toe and tell them to "bring it"...

In my mind Republicans are the Bullies in the Yard and it's time we stand up to them as Democrats and let them know we are not going to allow them to instill fear and poison the world with hatred and bigotry and ignorance.

I like to think of myself as a Hippy.. peace loving and calm, rational and intelligent... but I am also a warrior when I feel like I need to fight for what is right. So when I see all these loud mouthed Right Wing paranoid bigoted hateful people spewing their twisted truth I am not going to walk away... I am going to fight.

Our voices are just as loud... we just need to use them....

God Does Not Need a "Hitman"

I watched Rachel Maddow and saw the video posted below about abortion Doctors being assassinated and it got me thinking. If you you believe in God and you believe that he is the ultimate Judge and he is the one who decides what is right or wrong... then doesn't that make you either a complete ego maniac or totally crazy to think you can do his job???

And it's not just this issue, but any killing done in the name of God. NO RELIGION asks its followers to kill in his name. God does not need a "Hit Man"! If God exists in what ever form you believe in, then he does not need human beings to kill for him. If you believe that God is the ultimate Judge, then what are you doing trying to perform his job? Isn't that the ultimate betrayal of God?

If God is "All Powerful" then he does not need us to carry out his plans. If you believe "Thou shall not kill" is a direct commandment from God himself, then where do you get the guts to defy him? Don't use God as an excuse for your insane behavior.

When crazy people are in full delusional mode they are not able to use logic to deal with problems. Crazy people twist and manipulate and distort reality to appease their way of reasoning and base their actions on flawed thinking.

People who use religion to act out their hatred and violent personalities are as about as far from God's wishes for us as can be.... again ... God does not need a Hit Man ...

Peace (be with you....)

You're Allowed to Dislike Muslims BUT...

With regard to the up roar in America over the Community Center that will contain a prayer room or otherwise known as the "Ground Zero Mosque" I would like to point out something that I think way too many folks are missing in their logic.

You are Allowed to dislike Muslims. BUT... you are not allowed morally or legally to take that dislike and violate their rights as both American Citizens or as human beings.

We all have the human right to decide who and what does not appeal to us. We all have the right to feel dislike towards someone who does not share our beliefs or values or customs. It's natural to feel dislike for something that is not part of your world.

But, as intelligent thinking creatures, we also have the ability to make a distinction and say just because I don't like something or someone, it does not mean I will act out towards it... I can accept and be tolerant of others and their beliefs and ways.

If I don't like Mexican food cause it gives me heartburn, I don't buy it... I don't eat it. Simple. As long as someone is not forcing me to eat it, it's not even an issue. I also wouldn't stop anyone from eating it because I don't like it. That would be silly.

So why can't we apply that same basic logic when it comes to Muslims in America?

Again... you are Allowed to dislike Muslims for what ever reason you have, whether it's based in culture or ideology or behavior or even ignorance. You are even allowed to be a racist in Thought .... although not in deed of course.

So when the people who protest the "Ground Zero Mosque" do so, it's okay if you don't like Muslims. Here is the thing... be Honest about it.

The Community Center that is being proposed is not breaking any law, is not being built by terrorists, is not going to effect anyone who does not want to participate in activities there. So What exactly is at issue?

If you are not a Christian but a Jew or vice versa, you wouldn't protest the building of a Church or Temple cause you didn't like or practice their faith would you? So what is the issue here?

Muslims did not attack us... radical Terrorists who happened to be Muslims attacked us. If you can't make the distinction between the two, then you need to seriously ask yourself why you can't and be honest about it. Because again... you are Allowed to dislike Muslims. But to prevent them from the same rights all Americans share is illogical, immoral, and just plain wrong.

And even If this proposed Community Center spawns Terrorists.... guess what .... then we will know where to arrest them won't we? A building does not plot terror attacks, people do. If this community center isn't allowed because the argument against it is.... it will be a haven for terrorists.... that's fine. Prove it. And even then it won't stop terrorists from plotting. They will just find someplace else, maybe terrorists will even covertly rent an office in the new structure built on ground zero itself for all we know some day. We fight terrorism by bringing them to justice for their deeds.

Unless we have evidence that this Community Center is something more sinister then being proposed, then we better stop acting like childish buffoons. The world is watching.

Look .. I know people are afraid. I understand that what is really at issue here is the fear that Muslims will take over. But what you have to hold onto is that we decide as human beings how to live our own life and no one can force us to change what is in our heart. No one can take over your heart... only you decide how to live your life.

And when you allow others to live out what is in their heart then you are only strengthening your own heart. If someone prevents you by deed or act from living your life in peace, then you have the right to defend it and defend it with honor.

A Community Center where Muslims pray in some room in a section of some undetermined floor of a facility that potentially will also house a basketball court and a cooking class etc., is not going to threaten your way of life. I promise. If instead of being afraid... you instead open yourself up to new things, you might even become a better person for it.

Live and Let Live... Peace

Even "W" knows better....
