Who are the People in The Tea Party?

Ut oh... I am in real trouble now!!! Well, I won't shut up and neither will other Hippies like me.... cause it's my right to speak up... or are only People in the Tea Party allowed to speak? It's stuff like this that has me scratching my head. WHO are the people in the Tea Party? Isn't telling someone to shut up against our constitutional right? Can you imagine a liberal telling a Tea Party member to shut up... yikes!!! The Freedom of Speech issue would ignite faster then a Texas Barbecue!

Well, in keeping with my attempt at trying to understand who these people are, I came across this article from a site called Alternet where the author talks about the people who are aligning themselves with the Tea Party. It gives some perspective into who they are for the most part. It's a generalization, maybe a bit harsh, but a fairly accurate one in my opinion from what I have seen of the activity that goes on at many of their social sites on the internet.

This is a subject I have really been struggling with myself. I wanted to understand what makes them tick. I want to find how they differ from Main stream Republicans. When I came across this article, it really just crystallized it for me.

Are the Teabaggers Just Republicans in Denial?

What had eluded me all this time was a simple explanation. For the most part... people in the Tea Party certainly seem to be annoyed, angry, bitter people who are humiliated that they got their butts kicked by wimpy peaceful Democrats (AKA Hippies). They basically just don't want to align themselves with the losing side. They are... I am afraid to say... sore losers.

Take a look at their Mission Statement it seems harmless enough, but when you look at the discussions and the replies and the blog posts and the pictures they post of themselves... a clear type of person emerges.

These are people who want a Revolution and pepper their social site with images to bolster this state of mind. Images after all are worth a thousand words. Don't take my word for it... look for yourself...

There you will find a women who dresses herself in 1860's garb, countless pictures of Revolutionary & Civil War images, people in Tri-corner hats wearing Wal-Mart shirts made to look like the Flag, LOTS of pictures of guns, military planes, tanks, trucks, Swamp buggies (or trucks hopped up on steroids to go hunting in the woods for man eating deer and rabbit) pictures of signs about guns like the one above.

There are pictures of Obama in lots of nasty cartoons and mocked up images like this one.

Then we have the threatening ones with blood on swords like this one.

There's pictures of Jesus, and more stylized versions of the American flag that I ever knew existed...

And then there are clever shirts like this one. Funny, most liberals I know work... hmmmm... you know, people like those lazy ass Teachers and Social Workers, writers, poets, environmentalists, Professors of Law, scientists... you know the kind!

I could go on.... but you get the idea. Point being that these are not people looking for a solution to a problem.

They basically are PISSED and looking for someone to Blame!!! But if they want to point fingers... why aren't they pointing them at the guy who got us into the Debt we are in? We are paying those taxes you are fighting tooth and nail over cause of "W". Why don't you have one of your rallies on his Ranch?








America is about freedom and we all have the right to our beliefs and people in the Tea Party have every right to dissent.

But WHAT are they upset over? That's the real question. From the outside looking in... to me ... they look like people who don't want to live in a country where people help each other and no one is left out because of money or color or age, or disability or orientation. To me... people in the Tea Party are intolerance incarnate. Well good luck with that.... hope it all works out for you. Cause us Hippies ....feel a little differently.

HOPE... Okay for Sarah but NOT Obama...

I swear this woman needs help from a Psychiatrist or something.... she mocks Obama for talking about Hope ... yet when she says the same exact thing... all of a sudden it's Virtuous?



So which is it Sarah... is Hope a Sappy thing to be mocked or something we all need in our lives... Pick one...

A Celebration of Hope

Hope is one of America’s unique virtues. Hope makes us dream and achieve the seemingly impossible. It’s who we are, and it’s why we’re able to always believe that our best days are yet to come, both for our families and for our country. Easter time reminds us that we have every right to believe that this hope is based on time-tested truths and a solid foundation.On behalf of the Palin family, I wish you all a peaceful and reflective Good Friday and a blessed and happy Easter Sunday.

Well I am just stunned. Here is a Map of America with indicators on it exactly like those of the Cross Hairs on a gun-sight. What do they indicate you ask? They indicate the Districts where Democratic Politicians are located. You know... the ones who voted for Health Care....
She literally.... NOT figuratively .... is mapping out who to target! Is she a Great Patriot... or an American Terrorist.... you decide

If you oppose the Health Care Plan... that's fine.... it's your right as an American to do that. If you oppose the current Administration that's fine too, cause in a Democracy we vote! This is Bullying...

The American Public overwhelmingly voted for the The Democratic Party, much to the disgust of a Minority of people... Instead of waiting on or relying on the American Democratic process of voting to show their disapproval... instead these Right Wing Terrorists are becoming violent.

Democrats did not throw bricks through windows.... or spit on elected officials while calling them the "N" word, or tell people to wipe out Republicans like Rush Limbaugh is calling for. They didn't place nooses and coffins on peoples lawns. They didn't blatantly create maps indicating which people to target with pictures of cross-hairs... sending a clear message of what to do.

The only way to counteract Hateful and Ignorant Speech and the violent acts that result from it... is with Intelligent Peaceful Speech

Be Grateful for Kooks!

Today I was thinking about all the people who sort of "motivated" me to begin this Blog and began wondering why I was really doing this.
Who pushed me to the edge? What made me say I have to speak up .... was it this buffoon? Oh Yeah.... but he's only one of them.

It occurred to me that in a round about way.... I should actually be thankful for the Kooks that are out there right now... you know... Palin, Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilley...

It's because of their radical, hate filled, intolerant, close minded propaganda that I feel like I can't just continue to be a by-stander in the country any longer. I feel like there isn't a minute to waste because it's these people that I view as the real threat to this country. They are the bullies in the school yard. They are the ones who will destroy this country... but that's only if we let them.This is a great country... I love this country with all my heart. It's chock full of people from every single walk of life, which is why it is so great... it's Diversity at it's best...


Diversity is what makes Life Thrive

Even in Nature, when any species of plant or animal is up against impossible odds, and their way of life is being threatened... they adapt... they evolve.

It's the threat of being destroyed that cultivates Evolution. Without that threat...there wouldn't be

Shells to protect you....
Wings to let you fly ...
Legs to let you run ....

Or Flowers that protect their tender buds with sharpened thorns...

And the list goes on....

If you think about it in those terms.... the threat of being crushed, the threat of being caught and the threat of being eaten .. all of it... can actually bring about beauty and strength and help Diversify life on our tiny blue planet.

So Thank You Glen Beck... and thanks to all the people who will force us to rally...

So bring out all the nuts jobs, kooks and sociopaths you have on hand... because in the end it will be a catalyst for change.


Most Liberals and Hippies are known for being rather quite, passive people... but I have a feeling that is about to change. Maybe one day people will say... 'Gee... what ever you do... Don't piss off a Hippy!'

American Health Care is NOT Socialism!

I consider myself, for the most part, to be an Independent politically, with leanings towards being a social liberal.

But trust me... I am NOT fond of the Democratic party. I think the current body of Democrats in the House and Senate are more or less equivalent to weak, spineless jellyfish.

I feel like the two party system has been replaced. I feel like there is actually only ONE party in our Government and its called Politician

All the elected Democrats & Republicans (with few exceptions) basically have the same exact agenda IMHO. They are there to further a career, make money or attain power.It's an ego trip. Very few are true servants of the people. There aren't two sides... two differing points of view working on doing what's best for our country any more. Our current political system is comprised of individuals seeking office for their own personal gain. Few represent the actual People that elected them.

And if they aren't in it for their own gain, they turn into something worse... puppets. Eventually, the "weak willed" officials cave into the pressure of the almighty Lobbyists and at some point allow themselves to be manipulated as puppets for big business...

Even though I have liberal Social views.... I am Conservative when it comes to other things. Thus I view myself as an Independent. But alas... those views are for another day! Today... I am hot & bothered over one thing...

....the current uproar over Health Care!

Someone please explain to me WHAT the problem is with the GOP? I want to understand it. I want to understand what the opposition is over this. So far, the only argument I see being presented by the GOP is based on hatred for other people. If it's NOT.. what else is it? Please enlighten me....

If it's about MONEY.... then why didn't they stop Bush from bleeding us dry? We are currently paying for the multitude of horrid mistakes Bush made (now and probably for the next 50- 100 years) .... yet "Obama" gets the blame as if it's HIS fault.... give me a break! It's insane.

If it's about Keeping Government OUT of our lives... then why do they want to see Laws created..... dictating how we live our life?

If you want Government out of our lives.... then don't ban Gay marriage! How does that hurt anyone? In any way? If you don't believe marriage can exist between the same sex... here's an idea... don't marry someone of the same sex.

If you want Government OUT of our lives, then stay out of the medical decisions and the moral choices women have been making for hundreds of generations.

Don't THOSE two things invade the most intimate, private, personal aspect of our lives?

Okay so it's not about any of those things you say....

If it's about the Crazy idea that Health Care for all Americans = Socialism .... then every law that is in place to protect the public or benefit the public is also Socialism. In case you hadn't noticed... ALL Government employee's have Health Care coverage! Is THAT Socialism? Why is it okay for the people we elected to be taken care of... but Not for the people who got them their job? How is that even moral, fair or balanced

If you are a Republican and are appalled by the current behavior of your party and it's self appointed fanatical leaders... please please please make sure these insane people do not speak for you. Speak out against this behavior ... even if it is your own party.

We can't allow the fringe of people that exists right now to keep spewing inflammatory hate speech and in the process pull our country down.

Debate is good... Opposing views... also good

No one wants a country where you can't speak your mind.... But.... what is going on right now is only fanning flames and pouring fuel into a fire that is already out of control.

If you TRULY LOVE this country.... then don't let extremists ... from either side... take over.

Think about it... if you have a child who did something wrong.... would you cover for them or let them know they crossed a line?

I love this country too much to see it be brought down by people who are incapable of intelligent thought...Don't be scared.... stand up... we can take it...
