The Demon Seeds of the GOP

These are the seeds you sowed GOP.... you sowed seeds of hate and violent behavior and lack of morals. You sowed seeds of intolerance and proud ignorance. You nurtured all the worst qualities of mankind and now the monster seeds you planted into the heads of your party, are all sprouted and  loose and out of control in ways you never thought possible.

I used to speculate that this was all some con game, but not any more. No sane person allows this or says this or does this....

Short copulation video from Americans Against the Republicans that I think best demonstrates the sickening behavior and mind set.

Donald Trump's War On The 1st Amendment
WATCH AND SHARE THIS! Today, a credentialed reporter was slammed to the ground by his throat by Trump's Secret Security forces. He regularly attacks the press with hateful and violent rhetoric. He jokes, "Nah, I wouldn't kill them" -- an answer to a question that should not have to be asked. He's stated his opinion in the past that Putin's execution of journalists in Russia "shows strength."He incites, encourages, and rewards violence against protesters. He has stated he would expand libel laws, tearing down the framework of the First Amendment. In fact, he's declared a war on the First Amendment. Donald Trump doesn't believe in the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, or the freedom of the press. We're never going to stop making fun of Donald Trump, but make no mistake -- the threat he presents to our nation and our democracy is all too serious. Trump, and his supporters, are fascists. When caught accidentally retweeting Mussolini, he DEFENDED Mussolini. He's the Republican frontrunner, and all predictions say he'll be the nominee. He's their leader. Trump is everything the GOP stands for, even those that won't admit it. Ignoring him isn't going to stop him. The only thing that will is letting it be known that this kind of behavior and attitude is not going to be tolerated in our nation. The undercurrent of racism and fear he has tapped into is strong, and our voices and votes MUST be stronger. There is no other option. Yeah... I remember the days when you could beat someone up so badly for speaking up, that they would need to be carried out on a stretcher ...

I remember those days. I also remember the days we hung black people from trees. They were dark days in our history

I also remember the days when we welcomed everyone to this country who wanted to make it their home and contribute to life.  Those are the days that make me proud.

Some day, when we look back at all this, we will remember your words and actions and look at you as the greatest example of the downfall of humanity.

They ARE people ... you on the other hand .... represent the worst of them.

Green Roof Top France and Beyond

Hey all you budding entrepreneurs out there.... here is one way to start up a business selling greenhouse kits, or something of that nature, to all the gazillions of people who have flat roof tops in this country.

Roof top of Chicago's City Hall

Green technology and changing the way we live off of the planet... is an open map.

France is doing it's part, making sure new construction is eco-friendly. Check this out ...

A new law recently passed in France mandates that all new buildings that are built in commercial zones in France must be partially covered in either plants or solar panels.

Green roofs, as they are called, have an isolating effect which helps to reduce the amount of energy needed to heat a building during the winter or cool it in the summer.

They are capable of retaining rainwater and reducing problems with runoff, and also offer birds a place to call home in the urban jungle.

If you don't get what Black Lives Matter means....here's a clue

If you don't get what #blacklivesmatter means, chances are, it's because you are the very kind of person that created the need for this movement. The fact that this is even an issue in 2016, is shameful.

All human beings deserve to be treated fairly. It's not rocket science, we know what the answers are.

Until everyone does their best to make sure that happens, #blacklivesmatter and any other movement that raises people up, will continue on.

We are supposed to help our fellow man, not kick them when they are at their lowest, weakest and most fragile. If a young adult, black or white commits crime, it's we who have failed that kid as a society. It's our collective fault, he doesn't know he is better then that.

Kids are not born criminals. They either were raised never knowing self worth, or feel they have no options other then to steal to survive. We can fix that.

If they are not being told they matter at home, then it's on social institutions like schools and churches and neighborhood recreation centers to pick up the slack.

If any child, feels less then human, that requires us as a society to step in and say, you do matter.

Black lives DO matter.

Big Oil Says Climate Issues Real

In an article by the Washington Post, ExxonMobil has taken the position that climate change is REAL ... that's pretty big stuff folks.

Big Oil companies can adapt. They can take their profits and invest in new technology. The same guy who made buggies for horses back in the day, could begin making motor cars instead. Times change. Our planet is on the brink and adapting isn't about keeping up with the future in this particular case, changing our ways will determine if there even IS a future.

For all the climate change deniers out there who are just in their own little world, maybe this will snap them out of it?

If even the big oil companies are willing to tell it like it is, only seriously insane people would keep denying what is happening to the planet.

Press 1 for English ... or get a Beer Mug to the Face

How many times have you heard folks complain about having to choose a prompt for English? It's normally followed by, this is America, speak American.

News flash.... there is no "American language".

In America, many languages are spoken. Start with the American Indian, Kings English, Spanish, Italian, German, Polish, French, Hebrew, Swedish, Arabic, Swahili, Russian, Chinese and a whole host of others.

America is a melting pot. When people come to America from a foreign land, most ... more then likely, already have a rudimentary understanding, so they can assimilate on a basic level. When dealing with businesses or agencies, to help make communication easier for our newly arrived citizens, sometimes we offer another language choice. That is a GOOD thing people.

Having an OPTION .... is not some kind of insult. It's not a dig or meant to replace or disgrace the English Language. Think about it. If you go to eat dinner at a restaurant and they are known for their steaks, you don't freak out that there is also chicken and fish on the menu. Well you could, but that would make you an idiot. By being so freaked out by any language other then English, all that does is show what an intolerant  bigot you are.

It may not seem like it's a big deal to get all worked up about people speaking some other language, but here is what that kind of intolerance feeds into.... violence ..... and in this case, a glass beer mug to the face.

Asma Jama was attacked by a "Real MURICAN" who was so upset at hearing 'non English' at a table next to her, that she not only throws the beer into the face of this peaceful American Muslim woman, but then proceeds to hit her so hard with the glass mug, she busts her lip open, resulting in 15 stitches.

Next time you see someone post something about how horrible it is to have to have a choice of which language to select on the phone, tell them about Asma...

Confederate Flag Shaming

In the aftermath of the South Carolina Church shooting, and the focus it put on racism via symbols, merchandisers Wal-mart and Sears just stepped into the 21st century folks!

They will no longer sell the Confederate Flag or symbols of it, in it's stores. Three cheers for them for doing the RIGHT THING!

AND ... who knows, they might even be a catalyst for change in the fight against racism. Wouldn't that be awesome?

On top of that, the flag on South Carolina's Capitol grounds is coming down after years of denying it was a racist symbol. With so much in our world that goes wrong or goes badly and depresses the hell out of us all, we now have a beacon of hope that our collective will CAN make a difference.

What a victory for the good guys! And what a turning point in our culture!

We all know there will be a backlash from the people who are deeply bigoted. And guess what, you are allowed to be a bigot. You are allowed to keep wearing it and displaying it.

Just know that if you do, it will be a piece of cake to identify you as a bigot. You WILL be judged and hopefully shamed for openly being a racist.

You want a symbol that represents the South? Find another one. One that does not conjure up hate and oppression. Just because it's part of history does not make it a good thing, so take that argument and throw it out the window. A point of pride does not include the enslavement of human beings. And shame on you for not knowing that on your own.

Our country should be proud of this step forward. The goal is to keep moving forward and to keep making the world a better place, and you can become a Drippy Hippy too ...

No Snow Capped Mountains

How does Climate Change effect us? In obvious ways, like more severe weather, but also in ways it's hard to comprehend. Like getting a visual example of what happens when our climate is too warm to allow snowfall on mountain tops which then melt and feed our water supply.

Snipped: Elephant Butte Reservoir dwindled to its lowest level in 41 years during the summer of 2013, despite monsoon rains in early July. It had been filled nearly to capacity for most of 1985 to 2000; the left-hand image from 1994 shows it about 89 percent full. At right, it has been reduced to about 3 percent. Elephant Butte is fed by the Rio Grande and is New Mexico’s largest reservoir. It provides water for about 90,000 acres (364 square kilometers) of farmland and nearly half the population of El Paso, Texas. Spring runoff from mountain snowpack was well below average in spring, 2013, and anemic rains throughout the beginning of the year left 80 percent of New Mexico grappling with either “extreme” or “exceptional” drought, the two most severe categories.

Simple Spirituality ~ Dalai Style

Yes... it IS that simple folks!

I understand the need for community. I understand the need for spirituality. I know that is how religion comes into being. We are social creatures and the combining of our need to gather and the need to express our feelings, fuels the creation of all forms of religion.

All peoples, no matter how remote they are from others, all have some form of religion.

For me, there is a huge difference between religion and spirituality. You can have both, but they are not the same thing.

Religion is about practice and practices and dogma and conformity. Which is not a bad thing. That depends on the tenants of the faith you follow.

If your religion gives permission to do harm, then of course there is an issue. If your religion takes you to dark places, that is not spirituality, that is a cult.

But if your practices are creating giant sand Mandela's to make you feel connected to the Universe by placing tiny grains of sand into a galaxy of colors and shapes, following a ritual can be a beautiful thing. Lighting a candle can be a beautiful thing, singing a hymn can be a beautiful thing. Listening to the telling of an ancient fable can be a beautiful thing. So I am not knocking Religion in and of itself.

But at the very core of all the religions is how YOU... YOU... get through life.

Spirituality is as individual as we are.

We may have similar beliefs, similar practices and methods for connecting ourselves to the Cosmos... but at the end of the day.... the ONLY thing that counts in life... is what happens within your being. Treat the world as you would yourself.

Your body and mind and spirit are all you need.... the rest is just icing on the cake... :)

The more you try to understand the world you live in, the more spiritual you become. It's about seeking truth and every day beauty, no matter where or when.

We build monuments and buildings to worship... so we can remind ourselves. But you don't have to do that. You can look up into a star filled sky, you can watch a hummingbird drink nectar from a flower, you can listen to the rush of a fast moving river or the crash of a wave and you ARE in a church ...

It's that simple.... :) Really.

Minimum Wage or Minimum Morality?

Yeah... we'll show em how great America is.. errrr ummm... NOT.

Well... that is unless you gauge success by the fact that the employers of minimum wage jobs make millions in profit. We are knee deep in greedy bastards and devoid of morality.

Now go watch Honey Boo Boo child or the Kardashians....

So how do we fight this? Simple... don't vote for politicians who are in the pockets of greedy corporations.

We are a democracy last I checked and that means that we the people can decide who represents our interests.

But you also have to be semi intelligent. You have to understand on some level how things work when it comes to politics.

Politics is not something any of us can afford to be ignorant about. If we bury our heads cause it's too hard to follow, then we can be taken advantage of.

We fund oil companies that are swimming in money already and yet don't fund schools... WHY do you think that is folks????

They want to keep the poor and working middle class dumb. Then they can tell us what ever they want to manipulate us into voting for politicians who are just sales reps for big business.

Who is hurt by minimum wage that is over $12 or $16 an hour... no one!!!!! Because if you buy a pizza that may cost you 50 cents more, it's okay cause you are earning a decent wage.

Well I have to admit that it will effect some people, like denying yourself that 5th house on the beach with the 5 million dollar boat parked at your own private dock. Or not buying that $350,000 bracelet or not having a car elevator so your car doesn't get it's feet wet if your beach house gets hit by a hurricane maybe every 10 years.

Morally... those people could give up a tiny portion of their profits just a tad so you don't have to pay more for your pizza and just be a moral human being.

No one needs to make so much money that they have more homes and cars and boats then they can possibly ever use. Unless of course you let your employees live in them while you are rotating through your collection. Yeah... that'll happen.

Look at what the CEO of Costco does.

I embrace success. I don't knock folks who work hard and make money. What I do have a problem with is morally bankrupt people stepping on the throat of another while you take all you can get your greedy hands on.

Pharaoh sits on gold thrones in robes of silk, while the people of his domain slave in mud pits. Get it? Cause that is what is happening folks... it's the oldest battle in the world. Greed versus Good... do you vote for Ramses or the guy with the sack cloth robe? Vote for Ramses if you want to work in his mud pit.

Don't let them keep you ignorant. Go to a library and teach yourself. If you can read, you can educate yourself and then you don't need to take a back breaking job and only earn $7.25 an hour.
